A wonderful day trip which allows you to experience authentic local Thai culture and explore the stunning nature close to Krabi town.
Stop off at Fossil Shell Beach to see the 40 million year old massive fossilized limestone slab, only to be found in two other locations in the world! We then visit Khao Khanab Nam mountains, set on the river, Krabi town’s most famous landmark. Explore inside the caves, see prehistoric paintings and impressive thousand year old stalagmite and stalactite formations.
We explore Krabi’s pristine mangrove forest, an internationally recognized wetland ecosystem. These mangroves are habitat for marine life and various species of wildlife, especially popular with birdwatchers as some of the world’s most diverse and rare species can be found here.
We visit a local fish farm and take a break for a fresh seafood lunch at the ‘floating restaurant on stilts’. After lunch we visit the Klang Island community, an idyllic sleepy fishing village a world away from the frenzy of mass tourism. We take a trip around the island to observe traditional local life. See farmers tending rice paddies, water buffalo grazing and friendly locals leisurely going about their daily affairs. We also visit a museum and some local craft centres where you can see demonstrations of age old preserved traditions and learn about ingenious, local methods of fishing and farming.
